Verse 1:
What I've preached unto you, brothers and sisters,
I ask you now to recall.
For I passed onto you, as most important,
That which I also received:

That Christ died for our sins,
As the scriptures said he would.
He was buried and raised on the third day,
As the scriptures said he would be,
As the scriptures said he would be.

Verse 2:
After this he revealed himself to Cephas,
Then he appeared to the twelve.
More than five hundered men saw him at one time,
Proving to each one of them:


Verse 3:
After this he appeared to James alone, then
All the apostles saw him.
Last of all as to one born prematurely,
Paul saw him and was convinced:

He was wounded for our transgressions.
He was bruised for our iniquities.
The chastisement of our peace was upon him,
And with his stripes we are healed,
And with his stripes we are healed.

Verse 4:
Take the Gospel Paul preached, in which you're standing,
And by which you're being saved,
And hold fast to this truth, taught by the scriptures,
Let not your believing be vain:
